Konstantin Baehr

Konstantin Baehr (born 1959) is the owner of Baehr Partners. Originally from Munich, he relocated to Switzerland in 1980, where he later obtained Swiss citizenship. Currently residing in Zurich, Konstantin is a proud father of three children.

At Baehr Partners, Konstantin brings over three decades of expertise in education strategy and planning, honed through a distinguished career at the Zurich State Department of Education.

Serving as the Head of Division (Chief Strategy Officer) from 2013 to 2024, Konstantin spearheaded educational planning initiatives with a focus on shaping policies to optimize learning outcomes. His responsibilities included the development and implementation of National Standards in Education, the Swiss German Curriculum, and the Strategic Alignment of Swiss School Structures. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in establishing Swiss Educational Monitoring systems, ensuring ongoing quality assessment and improvement initiatives.

Konstantin's achievements also extend to his involvement in preparing and accompanying the policy focus "Early Childhood." This initiative included the production of a scientific background report (2009), a strategy (2012), and two internationally recognized campaigns (2014; 2019) for early childhood and language arts education in everyday life (www.children-4.net). Since 2016, he has been a member of the Strategy Group of the Swiss UNESCO Commission for Early Childhood Education, Education, and Care.

In addition to his domestic contributions, Konstantin has been actively engaged in international cooperation efforts. Notably, between 2011 and 2022, he participated in the trinational cooperation between Germany, Austria, and Switzerland ("DACH cooperation"). He also collaborated on educational initiatives with the State of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Furthermore, he is a member of the ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) and has collaborated closely with esteemed experts in the United States in the field of teacher education and curriculum development. A special partnership has been with Richard E. Lange, Director of Curriculum and Staff Development, from Chicago/Illinois.
